These scientists, Morton Ann Gernsbacher and Juan S. Ramirez Lugo, were reelected to the AAAS Board of Directors. They wanted to learn more about how our brains work when we read and understand sentences. So, they asked some volunteers to read different sentences while they measured their brain activity using special machines. They found that certain parts of the brain become more active when we read sentences that make sense compared to those that don't. This helps us understand how our brains process information when we read and comprehend what we are reading.
