Humane genomics education can reduce racism. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38386735/)
These scientists wanted to see if teaching about genetics in a different way could help people understand it better. They believed that by going beyond the basic ideas of genetics taught by Mendel, they could help people avoid having wrong or oversimplified ideas about how traits are passed down from parents to children. To test this, the scientists created new lessons about genetics that included more advanced concepts than what Mendel originally discovered. They then taught these lessons to a group of students and compared how well they understood genetics compared to another group of students who learned the traditional Mendelian genetics. By doing this, the scientists could see if teaching genetics in a more detailed way could help people have a more accurate and complete understanding of how traits are inherited.
