Healable and conductive sulfur iodide for solid-state Li-S batteries. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38448596/)

These scientists found a way to make batteries for electric cars that are more powerful and longer-lasting. They made a special kind of material by adding iodine to sulfur, which is normally not very good at conducting electricity. This new material conducts electricity much better and can be melted easily to fix any damage that happens during use. The new battery they made using this material lasted for a long time and kept most of its power even after being used many times. This discovery is a big step forward in making better batteries for electric cars.
