Accounting for the increasing benefits from scarce ecosystems. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38452091/)
These scientists wanted to understand how the value of nature changes as people become wealthier and nature becomes more scarce. To do this, they looked at different areas and studied how important nature was for the people living there. They talked to the people to learn about the benefits they get from nature, like clean water, fresh air, and beautiful landscapes. By doing this, the scientists were able to figure out how much nature is worth to different communities and how important it is to protect it.
