Mapping the pancancer metastasis tumor microbiome. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38670070/)

These scientists wanted to explore the tiny living things called microbiomes that are found inside tumors that have spread in the body. They looked at samples from 4,160 tumor biopsies from 26 different types of cancer to see what kinds of microbiomes were present. By studying these microbiomes, they hoped to learn more about how they might be involved in the spread of cancer to different parts of the body. This study provides valuable information for understanding how these tiny organisms could impact cancer that has spread.
