East-to-west human dispersal into Europe 1.4 million years ago. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38448591/)
These scientists wanted to figure out how old some stone tools were that they found in Ukraine. They used special methods to date the sediment where the tools were found. They found out that the tools are about 1.42 million years old! This is really old and shows that humans were in Europe a long time ago. The scientists think that humans might have come to Europe from the east. They also looked at the environment where the tools were found and think that early humans liked to live in warm places during ice ages. This study helps us understand more about how humans spread to different parts of the world a long time ago.
